Formerly part of SUSE Linux and SuSe Linux professional, OpenSUSE is a Linux based project. It is used through the world but mainly in Germany. Its initial release was on October 6, 2005. It was develop to create the open-source tools for software development and the use for system administrators. OpenSUSE uses a GUI ( graphical user interface ) which gives the user a friendly desktop feeling. The  current distribution release for OpenSUSE is called Leap 42.1 that was out in November 4, 2015. There is a community project that has a version called openSUSE Tumbleweed.
